One major factor that led to the late independence of Africa was European colonization especially Britain and France. They did not leave heir colonies as they were very much interested in continued profits coming from Africa and once they ended control over America they came to hold Africa more strongly. And this independence which Africa got was also because Europe was shook after the Second World War. They were facing huge financial crisis and therefore, were unable to concentrate on African colonies which eventually led to the independence of the African countries.
